Robertson A-36 Wall Panel System

 

The Robertson "A-36" wall system has an architectural, semi-concealed fastener and economical covering designed to keep your building virtually maintenance free.

With major ribs at 12" centres, they not only provide panel strength and integrity but also enhance the panel's architecturally pleasing sculptured appearance. Panel strength is provided by the panel's construction from sturdy 26 gauge steel and is finished in either a siliconized polyester or 70% KynarŪ in a variety of colours for added beauty, with finishes guaranteed for 10 to 20 years.

Robertson A-36 panels have exceptional energy efficiency and will easily accept 6" of insulation.

Corner trim, base and metal closures are standard features of the A-36 wall system. It is available with a complete line of self-flashing accessories including windows, doors and storefront window systems.
 

  
1 GENERAL  

The wall system will consist of metal panels joined together with fasteners through overlapping side- laps and secured to the structure with fasteners. Integral components such as corner trim, base trim and eave trim will be furnished as required.

 5 PANEL APPLICATION

5.1 Structural system will be plumb before wall panels are attached.
 
5.2 Panels will be aligned and attached in accordance with erection drawings furnished
by Robertson Building Systems.

5.3 All sidelaps will be at least one full corrugation.
   
2 PANEL DESCRIPTION

All A36 panels will be precision roll formed to provide 36" wide net coverage. Finished panels will have four major corrugations 1" high at 12" on centres, with a 21/4" x 1' deep depression between each major corrugation.

 6. FASTENERS

All connection of wall panels will be made with:

6.1 #12 - 14 x 1 A" self drilling screws, long life coated, painted to match wall colour, no sealing washer (structural fastener).
 
6.2 1/4 - 14 x 7/8" self-drilling screws, long life coated, painted to match wall colour, no sealing washer (stitch fastener),

   
3 PANEL DESIGN

3.1 Panel design will be in accordance with AISI "Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members", or CSA Si 36 "Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members", and in accordance with sound engineering methods and practices.
 
3.2 The wall will be covered with A36 panels of 26 or 24 gauge, 50,000 psi minimum yield steel Aluminum-Zinc alloy coating (ASTM
Specification A792).

 7. ACCESSORIES
 
7.1 Accessories, i.e., doors, windows, louvers, will be added as standard with Robertson Building Systems unless otherwise noted, and furnished as specified.

7.2 Standard accessory locations will be as shown on erection drawings as furnished by Robertson Building Systems.

 
 
4 PANEL MATERIALS AND FINISH

Factory coloured A36 panels of 26 or 24 gauge, 50,000 psi minimum yield steel Aluminum-Zinc alloy coating (ASTM Specification A792). Siliconized poly-ester coating can be applied, or an inorganically pigmented 70% polyvinylidene fluoride coating can be applied (70% Kynar).

 8. WARRANTIES

8.1 All wall panels will be warranted for a period of one year for defects in material or workmanship.

8.2 Panels finished with siliconized polyester coatings will be warranted for a period of 10 or 20 years against blistering, peeling and chalking according to manufacturer's standard warranty. Panels finished with 70% Kynar coating will be warranted for 20 years.
